The March 2011 edition of the Ringgold Identify Database Bulletin is here. As usual we have had a busy month and the beginning of April will see a number of us at the UKSG conference.
Consortium Directory Online – CDO
The CDO is due to be launched on 1st April 2011. Work will be continuing on linking consortium members with Identify records. This is an ongoing project, reflecting the changes in the memberships within consortia.
UKSG in Harrogate, Yorkshire UK, is the next major event we will be attending. Helen Henderson, Diane Cogan and Rachel Taylor will be available during the conference. If you’d like to make an appointment to see us, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will be exhibiting at SSP – 1st – 3rd June 2011, ALA New Orleans 24-18 June and also the Frankfurt Book Fair – 12th -14th October 2011.
The next User Group meeting will be held on Wednesday 1st June 2011, 13.00-16.30, at St Botolph Club, Boston, Massachusetts. A draft agenda is being circulated and if you have not received a copy, please contact us at email@example.com. Please let us know if there is an area you would like to see covered in the meeting. We will do our best to include it on the agenda.
Last month we reported over 6,000 new records being added to the database so far in 2011. This month that total is now over 9,000.
Health services in the UK – Changes are continuing with NHS Trusts and we are reflecting those changes in Identify. As new Trusts are created or change their names to Foundation Trusts we are amending the database.
Quangos – Following a ruling by the UK government in October 2010, a large number of Quangos are being abolished. Recent amendments have include British Nuclear Fuels; the database now shows its dissolved status and the date. The changes in quangos are being made gradually and we will reflect these in Identify.
Athens – We are adding Athens Organization Codes to the database and these should be available in April for those customers who subscribe to our authentication sector.
