In order to improve our service and make it easier for you contact us, we have just introduced a new feedback form to CDO. This and more in this month’s newsletter.

In order to improve our service and make it easier for you contact us, we have just introduced a new feedback form to CDO.  It provides you with a direct link to our team, so that you can raise log in issues, request checks on consortia you are intending to contact, or inform us about consortia missing from our directory.

Over the past few months we have also been working hard to provide you with updated records and new consortia. Here are a few recent developments:

CONRICyT in licence agreement with the Royal Society of Chemistry

The Royal Society of Chemistry has negotiated with support from its agent for Latin America, ACCUCOMS,  a licence agreement with CONRICyT, a consortium of government agencies, public and private universities in Mexico. The Royal Society of Chemistry has also closed a deal with CONICET in Argentina, the National Scientific and Technical Research Council. CONICET has been acquiring resources predominantly via BECYT, Argentina’s lead consortium.  In the wake of the deal with the RSC we are currently investigating the licensing activities of the research network and will keep you updated.

Nature Publishing Group sign deal with ISTEX

NPG has concluded a contract with ISTEX – the French national licensing programme managed by Couperin and the French National Agency for Research (ANR). The agreement provides 1.9 million students, researchers and scientists at 200 universities and research institutions with access to the full archives of Nature and 7 specialist titles in biology, chemistry and health sciences.

ISTEX has recently also signed licence agreements with Brill, Elsevier and the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Max Planck Society buys Springer Book Archives

The Max Planck Digital Library has agreed with Springer SBM the purchase of the complete Springer Book Archives, a collection of 110 000 titles published between 1842 and 2004. The Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL) is the library and information services unit of the Max Planck Society, which, with 82 institutes, is one of Germany’s leading research networks.

New Consortia added to CDO

Please find below a list of consortia we have added to the directory since the last CDO newsletter. Among them the eLibrary Myanmar, a new consortium started up by EIFL to provide students, academics, and researchers with access to quality information resources. The membership is currently limited to the University of Mandalay and the University of Yangon, but the long-term object is to establish an independent library consortium, which includes all public and private universities in the country:

You can find us on Skype at ‘ringgoldinc’, and keep an eye on our Twitter feed twitter.com/ringgoldinc where we announce new consortia additions.
