Identify: marketing database

Who are your customers?

In the era of print a mailing label only had to contain enough information to get to the right building. Now complex licenses and electronic access mean that you have to be able to know exactly who has purchased your content.

The Identify audit will tell you who your customers are, with information about their structure, consortia memberships, size, type, and location.

This data can be imported into your local system to enhance and group your existing records. We can also provide data cleaning and structuring services for your subscriber data.

Where are you strong,
where are you weak?

Ringgold estimates that the current major market for subscribers to academic journals is about 250,000 institutions worldwide. Our database contains 100,000 and is growing weekly as we research and add more institutions. These institutions are categorized by location, sector, and size.

This database is available in whole or in sectors for licensing and internal use. In addition we offer a web service which allows you to compare your subscribers with the Identify database and find your market penetration by country and sector.

How do you reach those opportunities?

Once you have decided which of those markets you want to reach, the Ringgold database supplies the essential details for each institution, including the URL, allowing you to create a set of target institutions that do not subscribe to your journals.

Our consortia service allows you to assess the existing subscriptions from institutions within a consortium and to structure an appropriate offer.

Ringgold is working with marketing and sales consultancies, supplying them with data so they can work with you on detailed market analysis and sales support.
