East Central Regional Library (US) Switches to Evergreen

8 Jun 10:   The East Central Regional Library, which is based in Cambridge and serves Aitkin, Chisago, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine Counties, will soon become the first Minnesota public library system to migrate to an open source integrated library system, Evergreen. The migration is also a first for the PALS in Mankato, which is hosting East Central Regional's new Evergreen-based catalog.

Paine College and Richards Free Library Partner with ByWater Solutions for Koha Implementation

8 Jun 10:   ByWater Solutions, an open source community supporter and official Koha support company, announced that Paine College, of Augusta, GA and Richards Free Library, of Newport, NH have partnered with them for the installation and support of the Koha integrated library system.

CSIRO is first Relais customer in Australia to be hosted by CAVAL

7 Jun 10:   The Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Relais International’s first Australian customer to be hosted by CAVAL Ltd. which provides Support and Hosting Services for Australasian customers of the Relais ILL Management Software. CAVAL is a not-for-profit library consortium owned by 11 Australian universities and offering a range of specialist services to libraries.

Mississippi Library Commission selects AGent VERSO to replace Symphony ILS

1 Jun 10:   The Mississippi Library Commission (MLC) will be implementing Auto-Graphics, Incorporated’s AGent VERSO as its integrated library system (ILS). AGent VERSO will replace the library's SirsiDynix Symphony system. MLC uses AGent Resource Sharing, which is also provided by Auto-Graphics for its statewide interlibrary loan (ILL).

National Library of China joins OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing service

28 May 10:   Global library cooperative Online Computer Library Center, Inc. (OCLC), US, has announced the National Library of China as a new participant in the OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing service. Under the initiative, the National Library of China will share its rich collections with libraries and researchers worldwide.

The Goportis Consortium selects Ex Libris' Rosetta digital preservation solution

27 May 10:   Library solutions provider Ex Libris Group, Germany, has announced that the Goportis consortium has selected the Rosetta digital preservation solution to provide access to digital resources. With the Rosetta infrastructure and technology, Goportis will preserve the collections under its members' guardianship and facilitate access to these collections.

Jonathan Trumbull Library joins Bibliomation on Evergreen

26 May 10:   Jonathan Trumbull Library, in Lebanon, CT has gone live with Evergreen open source ILS. This is the third library of Bibliomation’s Evergreen pilot group, joining Beacon Falls Public Library and Douglas Library of Hebron, which have been live since March. The entire consortium is expected live during 2011.

Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh Selects Millennium and Electronic Resource Management

20 May 10:   Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, (UK) has selected the Millennium ILS and the integrated Electronic Resource Management (ERM) products to provide seamless access to print and electronic resources for staff and students. The Library is migrating from a Unicorn™ ILS system.

OverDrive Unveils Applications for Integrating e-books and Multimedia Content

20 May 10:   OverDrive, a US-based distributor of e-books, audiobooks and digital content, has announced that it will release a series of applications that will combine e-books, audiobooks and interactive and multimedia content into one application. The apps will be available for both mobile and desktop operating systems, including Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.

Vancouver Island Chooses ITG for New Self-Checkout Kiosks

19 May 10:   Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) has chosen ITG (Integrated Technology Group)to replace its existing self-checkout kiosks from another vendor with ITG XpressCheck units. VIRL is thethird largest library system in British Columbia.

Harrison County Library System Selects AGent VERSO

19 May 10:   The Harrison County Library System, providing 10 public library locations in Coastal Mississippi, has selected AGent VERSO from Auto-Graphics, Inc. as its integrated library system (ILS). AGent VERSO will be replacing SirsiDynix's Horizon ILS.

Two Tennessee Public Libraries Acquire Bibliotheca Security Gates

19 May 10:   Two Tennessee libraries, Sevier County Public Library System and Clarksville- Montgomery County Public Library, have selected and recently installed Bibliotheca’s BiblioGate VI gates and BiblioGate Tracker software in their facilities.

City of Newport in Wales Selects V-smart

18 May 10:   The City of Newport in Wales has selected V-smart, Infor's web-based integrated library system. Newport, the third largest city in Wales, will implement V-smart, as well as Infor's V-insight statistical analysis portal, to replace its Genesis library management system.

LibLime Announces KOHA Immediate Download “Harley”

10 May 10:   LibLime has made available a tested, stable release of Koha for immediate download at their website. LibLime assembled Harley to provide many of the features developed by PTFS over the last 12 months into one stable and tested release that can be used immediately by libraries world-wide. This release includes all functionality in Koha as of October 2009, plus many new features not yet available.
