Library system in Pangasinan chooses KOHA

The automation project aims to further implement a more versatile library system. Rafael Baraan, the provincial administrator referred to the project as another milestone undertaken by the province that puts Pangasinan in pace with other countries in globalizing their communications. Edgardo Quiros, National Library of the Philippines (NLP) Information Technology Division Chief, hailed the provincial government for fully embracing modern technology that will serve as a pivotal bridge towards further developing and improving library services in the country. Quiros mentioned that as of December 2011, the Philippines has the most number of KOHA system being adapted in local libraries with Pangasinan Provincial Library as one of the leading provincial libraries in terms of modernization followed by the Cavite Library.
