USGENE now available on STN International

mail article to a friend      Contacts
SequenceBase Corporation and FIZ Karlsruhe have announced the launch of the USGENE database. All peptide and nucleic acid sequences from the published applications and issued patents of the United States Patent & Trademark Office from 1982 to date are now available via the online service STN International.

USGENE, a new resource for freedom-to-operate, prior-art, validity and infringement patent sequence searches, can be used for competitive analysis of organisations with biosequence patents and current awareness alerts from the latest US Patent & Trademark Office sequence data.

USGENE offers three advanced sequence searching methods; NCBI BLAST, the FastA-based GETSIM, and GETSEQ for fragment or motif sequence queries. The database also provides fully searchable organism name, sequence length, publication sequence identity number and feature tables for modifications and other features. Single-click full-text links from USGENE sequence records to USPTO original documents on the web are available to all searchers using STN Express and STN on the Web.

From August to September 2007 each STN loginID holder will benefit from a special introductory offer for USGENE usage.
