IOP Publishing contribute to AIP/APS Virtual Journals

mail article to a friend      Contacts
The papers from two scholarly journals published by IOP Publishing are now being incorporated into the AIP and APS sponsored series, Virtual Journals in Science and Technology. These publications are the New Journal of Physics, published on behalf of the Institute of Physics, and Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft Physica Scripta, published on behalf of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Access

Abstracts from each journal can be found in the Virtual Journals without access restrictions. To view full-text articles, users can follow the links to the articles in the source journals. Subscribers to Physica Scripta will thus have quick links to the journal's full-text articles; nonsubscribers can purchase the articles online. New Journal of Physics is an open access publication with no subscription fee, so all full-text articles are freely available.

Cross-publisher research

"The Virtual Journal series has become a highly valuable cross-publisher research tool, alerting practitioners in several fields to the breadth of research dispersed across the literature," said Tim Smith, Publisher for New Journal of Physics.

IOP Publishing

IOP Publishing is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to science communication and to promoting science and the scientist. IOP publishes a wide range of journals (including the Journal of Physics series), magazines (including Physics World) and a portfolio of community websites such as nanotechweb.org and optics.org.

IOP Publishing is wholly owned by the Institute of Physics. As the publishing arm of the Institute, IOP directly contributes to the funding of its charitable and educational activities.
